Trget is a fishing village situated in Raša bay. Its name comes from the verb ‘trgetarenje’ in Croatian (from the Latin word traiectum), which means ‘transport of people and goods from one side of the bay to the other’. There are ruins of the Romanesque church of St. Justin with a semicircular apse in the village center, and history books mention the existence of a medieval castle in Trget (Castello di San Giorgio). In the eastern part of Istria, just three kilometers from the sea is located the medieval town of Labin, a city rich in history and cultural heritage, today the city of artists. On the main square of Labin is a loggia from the 16th century, and the beautiful handmade main gate St. Flora. You can also visit the Labin National Museum, where you can find out more about the interesting past of the city. The city has numerous galleries, bars, studios as well a multimedia center you should visit. Only 5 km from Labin is Rabac, a major tourist resort on the east coast of the Istrian peninsula. There are beautiful sandy beaches, a pleasant climate, and a breathtaking view of the bays and the sea. Near Labin there are medieval towns like Pićan, Gračišće, Paz and Boljun, worth a visit.
